Churches have the right to participate in lobbying activities as long as it does not constitute a substantial part of their activities.

On your website and newsletter, encourage others to get involved – download/sign petition
Form a team to collect signatures
Sponsor a set of 1000 petitions ($120)
Do a special offering for CAS
Have signing days at your church and invite anyone in the community to come and sign the petition (“Sign for Justice” day)
Participate in our Statewide Interfaith Valentine Day Signature Drive – have a table at your church/synagogue/temple and invite people in the community to come on Valentine’s Day to sign the petition

Human Trafficking Initiative

We need at least 600,000 voter signatures by March 31st to get the human trafficking initiative on the November 2010 California Ballot!

What would the initiative do?

The initiative would deter traffickers with stiffer criminal penalties, aid district attorneys in prosecution, increase protection for victims, and mandate human trafficking training for law enforcement officers.
